It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Shaquina P. "Nonnie" Jones, who departed this life on August 27, 2026, at the age of 36. Born on February 25, 1990, in Augusta, Georgia, Nonnie was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew her. Her infectious smile and playful spirit brought light to every room she entered and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Shaquina was the cherished daughter of Sharon Jones-Mims (Donald) and Paul McNair. She was predeceased by her dear nephew, Trey Baker, whose memory she held close to her heart. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her adored children, Amari and Demari Vance; her beloved grandmother, Julia M. Jones; and her devoted siblings, Santauna Quiller-Martin, Latoya Jones-Sapp, Shereka Butler, Tequila Jones, LaShonda Jones, Ebony Jones, and brother Antonio Butler. She was a treasured aunt to Tonia Sapp, Taliyah Sapp, Ri’Keyah Butler, Ri’ketah Butler, Ti’Niyah Sapp, Alisha Jones, Ri’Myia Butler, Harmony Jones, Christiana Harry, and Makenna Jones, and to her nephews, Markell Quiller, Tad Baker, Antonio Butler Jr., Rashad Quiller, Ni’King Patterson, Joseph Martin Jr., Daniel Jones, Christavian Harry, and Christian Harry. Nonnie also leaves behind her uncles, Donald Williams, James Jones, Melvin Jones, Murrvin (Flo) Jones, and Morris Jones, as well as a host of cousins who will all dearly miss her presence. Known affectionately as the "favorite aunt," Nonnie took immense pleasure in creating joyous moments for her nieces and nephews, spoiling them with love and laughter. She was the life of every family event, always ensuring that fun and smiles were in abundance. Her vibrant personality and kindheartedness made her a cherished friend and confidant to many. A celebration of Shaquina's life will be held on September 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Williams Funeral Home, located at 2945 Old Tobacco Rd. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather and remember the beautiful moments shared with Nonnie. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Shaquina’s memory. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort and strength. Shaquina "Nonnie" Jones will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her boundless love for family, and her unwavering ability to bring happiness to those around her. She will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
