It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shane Mitchell, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world on June 20, 2026, at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with cancer. Shane was born on January 19, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Paul and Kathleen Mitchell. Though his journey on earth has come to an end, his vibrant spirit and infectious laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Shane was a man of many passions. He found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life, such as immersing himself in movies and music, and indulging in games on his phone. His zest for life was evident in his penchant for adventure and his love for sharing wisecracks that could light up the room. Shane led what he often described as a "wild life," full of unexpected turns and an unwavering sense of humor that endeared him to many. He is survived by his loving sister, Tone, and his devoted brother, Isaac, who will forever cherish their memories of growing up together in Cleveland. Shane's legacy is also carried on by his cherished nephews, Devonte, Quincy, and Joshua, and his adored nieces, Heaven, Mya, and Kyleigh. The joy of his life, his great-nephews Noah, Sebastian, Roman, and Legend, will always remember their great-uncle Shane's laughter and love. In addition to his immediate family, Shane leaves behind his beloved Aunt Levon, offering guidance and love throughout the years. Shane's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Though Shane's parents, Paul and Kathleen, predeceased him, he carried their legacy with pride and often spoke of them with great affection. Shane's family finds comfort in believing that he is now reunited with them, sharing stories and laughter once more. In accordance with Shane's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor his life and bid him a heartfelt farewell. While the gathering will be intimate, the family invites all who knew Shane to celebrate his life by embracing his joyous spirit and remembering the wonderful times shared. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the love and support extended to them during this difficult time. They would like to leave you with these words: "Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Today and Always." Shane Mitchell will forever be remembered for his laughter, his love for life, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
