In Loving Memory

Shana Chalynn Walters
August 12, 1991 — August 12, 2026
We gather to celebrate the life and legacy of Shana Chalynn Walters, who left us on her 35th birthday, August 12, 2026. Born in the heart of Kentucky on August 12, 1991, Shana's life was one of vibrant love, boundless generosity, and unforgettable joy.
Shana was a beacon of love and kindness, whose heart was as vast as the sky. Her laughter, infectious and bright, had the power to uplift the spirits of those around her, while her smile could light even the darkest room. She possessed a heart of gold, always ready to give everything she had to bring happiness to others, even when she had little to offer. Her capacity for love was boundless, extending to those who may not have reciprocated it. Her forgiving nature and ability to love unconditionally were testaments to her incredible spirit.
Travel, writing, and drawing were Shana's cherished pastimes, offering solace during life's stressful moments. Her faith in God was unwavering, and her dream of seeing the world was a testament to her adventurous soul. Above all, Shana adored being a mother, a role she embraced with unmatched devotion and joy.
Shana is survived by her beloved mother, Michelle Grace, fiance Jeffery Simms and her siblings: brother Kyle Butler, and sisters Patience Decker, Trinity Ziakas, and Katrina Edlin. She leaves behind her precious children, Stancy Sprowl, Channing Sprowl, Shelby Wilson, and Carly Wilson, who were her heart and soul. Her grandmother, Sheila Decker, along with her nieces and nephews—whom she loved dearly—will forever cherish her memory.
In her passing, Shana joins her three siblings, Shelly Butler, Shelby Walters, and Shandra Walters, who predeceased her. Though her time with us was tragically cut short by a stroke, her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who brought joy to Shana's life and loved her deeply. To honor her memory, a service will be held on August 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Bormann Funeral Home, located at 1600 Chicago Ave, Melrose Park, Illinois 60160.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Shana's memory to a charity of your choice, celebrating her life by continuing her legacy of generosity and kindness.
Though Shana Chalynn Walters is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through the love she shared and the lives she touched. She will never be forgotten, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
