December 26, 1993 — September 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shaka David James Dillard, who left this world on September 8, 2026, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Born on December 26, 1993, in Naples, Florida, Shaka was the cherished son of Keith Antonio Dillard and Jerry Toney Johnson. He was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, whose life, though brief, was filled with immense love, laughter, and creativity.
Shaka graduated from Lely High School in Naples, Florida, where his artistic talents began to shine. As an artist, painter, and creator, Shaka touched many with his remarkable ability to capture beauty and emotion on canvas. His passion for art was only surpassed by his love for family and the joy he found in spending time with those he held dear.
Survived by his siblings, Julian Johnson Sr., Felisha Waller, Classira Nicole, Keith Dillard Jr., Robert Dillard, Ashley Joseph, Christine Joseph, and Nerilien Joseph, Shaka was deeply connected to his family. His nieces, Cla'Jay Denord, Nina Denord, Vanessa Johnson, London Armstrong, and Ava Armstrong, and nephews, Julian Johnson Jr., James Bostic III, Jaden K., JB Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Robert Dillard Jr., Adonai Dillard, and Jacob Johnson, all carry forward the legacy of love and laughter that Shaka imparted.
Shaka was a unique soul, known for his infectious laughter, his ability to make others smile, and his talent for turning everyday moments into cherished memories. His humor was spontaneous and genuine, often leaving those around him in fits of laughter. He loved engaging in spirited debates, not out of anger but a desire to share his perspective and understand others.
Though he was strong-minded and opinionated, Shaka was also a peacemaker. He abhorred gossip and always stood up for those not present to defend themselves. His moral compass was unwavering, and his sense of justice was admired by many.
Shaka shared a particularly special bond with his mother, Jerry, who affectionately referred to him as "Mom's baby." Their connection was unbreakable, characterized by a deep love and understanding that transcended words. With his father, Keith, Shaka shared a relationship filled with laughter and camaraderie, a testament to the enduring love between a father and his youngest child.
Family was everything to Shaka. He cherished moments spent with his siblings, nieces, and nephews, whether it was making TikToks with Cla'Jay, singing with Christine, or simply sharing a laugh with Ashley. These times, once ordinary, are now invaluable treasures for those who loved him.
As we remember Shaka today, we celebrate a life that, though short, was incredibly rich in love and meaning. He taught us that life is not measured by its length but by the depth of love shared and the memories created. Shaka's legacy will continue to live on through the laughter, stories, and love he left behind.
