In Loving Memory

Seudat Goberdhan
March 21, 1948 — June 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Seudat Goberdhan, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather, and esteemed member of his community. Seudat departed this world peacefully at his home on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 78 years old.
Born on March 21, 1948, in the vibrant land of Guyana, Seudat was the cherished son of Dadool and Kowsilla. He is now reunited with them as well as his brothers Ralph, Newly, Spoonge, Batcha, and his sister Dolly, all of whom he dearly missed.
Seudat leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Una, who was his steadfast companion and the love of his life. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and Krishna consciousness. Their union, celebrated on August 4, 1968, blessed them with three sons—Jairaj, Balram, and Bhojraj—each of whom carries forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. Seudat was a proud father-in-law to Adelene, Rahel, and Geeta, and a doting grandfather to Michael (and his wife Kristine), Pretam, Gopal, Govinda, Sanjay, Sara (and her husband Joey), and Yohanna. His heart swelled with pride when he spoke of his great-grandchild, Gabriel.
Seudat’s siblings, Dillip, Sham, Raj, and Anita, along with numerous nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, and a wide circle of friends, will fondly remember his warm smile and his unparalleled ability to make everyone feel welcome. His temple family at ISKCON, where he was known as Shrutadev Das, will miss his unwavering devotion and cheerful presence.
Though his formal education was limited, Seudat's wisdom and work ethic were boundless. In Guyana, he owned a successful autobody shop where he was known for his meticulous skill as a spray painter. After relocating, he worked as a custodian in a hospital, where his gentle nature and dedication endeared him to all.
Seudat's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and service. He was a man of deep faith, whose life was guided by Krishna consciousness and the chanting of the Maha Mantra. His corny jokes and infectious laughter were legendary, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His generosity knew no bounds; he was always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 6 PM at Purvis Funeral Home, 207 E Mitchell St, Adel, GA. On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10 AM, we will proceed to the crematorium and later gather at 2651 County Farm Rd, Adel, GA, for a prayer service and Prashadam. All who knew and loved Seudat are warmly invited to attend and celebrate his extraordinary life.
In honoring Seudat’s memory, let us remember his radiant smile, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering faith. He taught us that family and faith are our greatest treasures, and his legacy will continue to inspire us. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that Seudat’s spirit will forever guide us, reminding us to lead lives filled with love, laughter, and compassion.
