Selina Hassanat Adebayo

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and grandmother Mrs Selina Hassanat Adebayo Nee Williams, who departed this world on July 18, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on March 10, 1942, Selina graced this world with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. Selina was the cherished daughter of Scott Williams. In May 1970, she married the love of her life, Rolland Ayodele Adebayo. Together, they built a loving family, and she is survived by her children and grandchildren, who will forever carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. Selina's life was one of service and devotion. She pursued her passion for healthcare with diligence and excellence, earning a Ph.D. in Midwifery. Her career began as a nurse in the Air Force, where her commitment and expertise were evident. She later took on the role of Chief Matron at Philip Morris Nigeria LTD, followed by her work as a Matron at General Hospital Ilorin and the Ministry of Health. Her influence in these institutions and the lives she touched are a testament to her profound impact on the community. A celebration of Selina’s life will take place on November 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church, located on Gaa Akanbi Road, Ilorin. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Selina are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church, a place that held special significance in Selina's life. Selina Hassanat Adebayo's gentle spirit, steadfast dedication, and nurturing love will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
