A beacon of grace and resilience, Seilala was born on January 6, 1930, in the serene village of Fahefa, Nuku’alofa, Tonga, to her devoted mother, Ketifakapo Taulanga. Seilala's journey through life was as vibrant and rich as her Tongan heritage. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, whose life was woven with the threads of love, tradition, and family. Her early years in Fahefa were filled with the warmth and joy of a large family, growing up alongside four cherished sisters—Hehèfalangi, Ketapou, Fakalavelave, and Huhui—and eleven devoted brothers—Kalàu, Hihifo, Makale, Fiona, Kafatapa’i, Kalà, Ikotafa, Ilaitua, Tepeni, Kulà, and Taka’taka. Her siblings, now predeceased, remain etched in her heart, their memories a testament to the enduring bonds of family. Throughout her 96 years, Seilala embodied the spirit of her ancestry, living a life marked by dedication, wisdom, and compassion. She was a guiding light to her surviving sister, ‘Iahanitaki’taki Folau ‘Taulanga, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her legacy extends to many nieces and nephews, who remember her as a gentle mentor, an inspiring storyteller, and a steadfast supporter in all their endeavors. Seilala's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and meaningful connections. Her kindness, infectious laughter, and unwavering faith touched everyone she encountered. She was a woman of deep conviction, whose values and principles served as a guiding star to her family and friends.
