Sean D. Clemons
August 20, 1976 — June 2, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Sean D. Clemons, affectionately known as "Big Clem," who entered eternal rest on June 2, 2026, at the age of 49. Born on August 20, 1976, in the vibrant city of Nashville, TN, Sean lived a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring friendships.
Sean was the beloved son of Rev. Ronald and Karen Greene and the cherished son of the late Ralph R. Hill. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Rev. Edward and Mae Francis Hill, James T. and Gertie Clemons, Rev. Henry and Almarene Love, uncles James T. Jr., Charles, Jerome, and Carl, Aunt Lois Lenox, and a devoted friend, Tavares Turner. His legacy continues through his surviving family: his devoted companion Renee Stanfield, his five children, Sean, Shayla, Jayla, Jonah, Jabez, and Matai, siblings Corey (Tiana), Ronald, Aric, Ralph, and Nomora, nieces Maya and Carrington, nephew Chance, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Sean was a proud graduate of Maplewood High School, Class of 1994, where his exceptional talents on the football field earned him the Class 4A NIL Defense Player of the Year Award and the honor of being a Mr. Football Lineman Finalist. His academic journey continued at Middle Tennessee State University and Tennessee State University, where he furthered his education and passion for sports.
In his professional life, Sean dedicated his skills to various roles, including working at TSU in the Facilities Management Department, Athens Wholesale Distribution, and as a Team Trainer at Arby's. His love for sports extended into his community involvement as a referee for youth football and baseball leagues, where he inspired young athletes throughout Nashville.
A devoted member of Cleveland Street Missionary Baptist Church, Sean's faith was a guiding light in his life. His hobbies included spending time with family and friends, and he held a special place in his heart for basketball and football. Those who knew him will remember his quick wit, infectious smile, and the warmth he spread with his humor and kindness. Sean's generosity and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered, a testament to the love he had for his family and friends.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Sean touched are invited to celebrate his life on June 5, 2026, at St. Teresa Holiness Science Church, located at 409 East Trinity Lane, Nashville, TN 37207. As we gather to honor his memory, we take comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10 KJV: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Sean D. Clemons will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire us, reminding us always of the joy he brought into our lives. May he rest in eternal peace.
