Scotty Gene Jones
March 11, 1962 — March 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scotty Gene Jones, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who departed this world on March 3, 2026, just shy of his 64th birthday. Born on March 11, 1962, in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scotty brought warmth and light into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. He passed away peacefully in Paris, Texas, after facing a long and courageous health battle with unwavering grace and dignity.
Scotty was the cherished son of the late Bob G. Jones and Wanda Sue Horne, who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and a love for the simple pleasures in life. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Jones, and his sister, Tamara Booth, whom he held close in his heart throughout his days. Though his passing leaves a void, his legacy of love and laughter lives on through his surviving family: his devoted daughter, Jennifer Jones, who was his pride and joy, and his precious granddaughter, Maddison Jones, who was the light of his life. Scotty's memory will also be lovingly cherished by his nephew, Jessie Shrader, and his wife Kristina, along with their two young sons, Scotty's great-nephews, who brought him much joy.
Professionally, Scotty was a dedicated truck driver, a career that took him across the vast landscapes of America. His work was not just a job but a journey that allowed him to see the country he loved. His colleagues remember him as a hard-working, reliable, and kind-hearted man who always had a smile and a story to share.
Beyond his career, Scotty found solace and inspiration in the great outdoors. Nature was his sanctuary, where he spent countless hours walking through the woods, birdwatching, and embracing the tranquility of the natural world. These moments of peace were among his most treasured, and he shared them with those he loved, passing on his appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.
A man of simple pleasures, Scotty also found joy in playing Wheel of Fortune with his mother, Wanda Sue, a tradition that brought them closer and filled their home with laughter and friendly competition. It was these moments of connection and shared happiness that defined Scotty's life and endeared him to all who knew him.
Scotty's warm spirit, genuine kindness, and love for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those who have gone before him, walking through the woods of heaven and watching over those he left behind.
A celebration of Scotty's life will be held on a date to be announced, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable man he was and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a nature conservation charity of your choice in Scotty's memory, preserving the natural beauty he cherished for future generations.
May Scotty Gene Jones rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the tranquility of nature and the love of his family.
