June 3, 1952 — March 20, 2026

June 3, 1952 - March 20, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Reed Peregoy, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed from this world on March 20, 2026, at the age of 73. After bravely navigating the challenges of a leg injury that spanned over three decades, ultimately leading to amputation below the knee, Scott's spirit remains an enduring testament to resilience and grace. Born on June 3, 1952, in Alhambra, California, Scott was the cherished son of Charles Forrester and Lila Rae (Cannon) Peregoy. Though he was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother, Steven F. Peregoy, Scott's legacy lives on through his surviving family: his brother, Kirk T. Peregoy, his sister, Lisa Peregoy Vickers, and his beloved nephews and nieces, Jennifer Guzman, Andrew Peregoy, Kiel Vickers, and Kaitlyn Vickers Hughes. Scott spent his formative years surrounded by the sun-drenched landscapes of Southern California. With a natural affinity for the outdoors, he and his family embarked on countless adventures, from camping trips stretching from Canada to Baja, to surfing and snorkeling along the Pacific coastline. These experiences shaped Scott into a man who cherished nature and the simple joys of life. His journey later led him to the rugged, breathtaking terrains of Colorado, where he discovered a newfound passion for horses and the quiet splendor of the wilderness. Often, Scott could be found packing into the heart of the Colorado mountains, a testament to his enduring spirit and love for exploration. Professionally, Scott dedicated his life to the art and precision of architectural drafting and building design. His work was not just a career, but a calling that allowed him to leave a lasting impression on the world through structures that reflected both beauty and functionality. His colleagues and clients knew him as a consummate professional whose attention to detail and creative vision were unparalleled. Scott's character was defined by his unwavering determination, infectious enthusiasm, and a graciousness that touched all who knew him. Despite the challenges he faced, his positivity and zest for life never waned. His resilience was an inspiration, and his kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. In the summer of 2026, Scott's ashes will be lovingly spread at Peregoy Meadows in Yosemite Park, a place of serene beauty that mirrors the peace he sought in life. This final resting place is a fitting tribute to a man who found solace and inspiration in the arms of nature. As we celebrate Scott's life, we remember the laughter he brought, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the natural world he so dearly loved.
