Scott E. Arner

Scott E. Arner, a devoted son of Nebraska, passed away on August 28, 2026, after valiantly battling through a 15-hour surgery. Born on July 20, 1957, in Fairbury, Nebraska, Scott was a man whose life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and community. Scott was the beloved son of Larry and Julaine Arner, both of whom predeceased him, along with his eldest brother Terry Arner and soul sister Lorie Kavan. He is survived by his cherished wife of 37 years, Yvonne, with whom he celebrated a beautiful marriage beginning on January 28, 1989. Together they raised a loving family, including their daughter, Kelsey Arner, and two chosen sons, Noah and Seth Kaylor. Scott took immense pride in his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, whose lives he touched deeply. Scott's siblings, Dan Arner and Lynne Blackshear, along with his close friends Gailen Young, Claude and Cherise Liesveld, and Kim and Jay Walgren, will forever hold fond memories of his strength, humor, and steadfastness. Known for his hardworking and reliable nature, Scott was also lovingly recognized for his stubborn yet strong and resilient spirit. A graduate of Fairbury High School in 1975, Scott answered the call to serve his country by joining the National Guard the same year, where he served honorably until 1979. His professional life was spent as an agriculture inspector for the weights and measures department of the State of Nebraska. For 47 years, Scott dedicated himself to his work, often traveling over the road, yet never missing a moment with those he loved. Scott found joy in simple pleasures, such as taking walks around his home with his loyal dog, Pearl, and attending music festivals with Yvonne. He was a steadfast supporter of her endeavors to protect the earth, reflecting his deep connection to the natural world. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the special ones in "our village" who supported Arner Acres during challenging times. Their kindness and assistance will never be forgotten. In accordance with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Scott's remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an organization of your choice in his memory, honoring his commitment to community and family. Scott E. Arner's legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will forever guide and inspire those he leaves behind.
