Scott Abbott, a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and beloved friend, passed away on October 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and an enduring love for his family and passions. Born on July 2, 1960, in Middletown, Connecticut, Scott was the cherished son of Cynthia and George Hunt, both of whom predeceased him. Scott grew up in a household where tradition and family values were highly regarded, a legacy he lovingly carried forward throughout his life. A graduate of Tampa Bay Tech in 1978, Scott embarked on a remarkable career as a CNC Machinist. He dedicated 47 years to his craft, retiring in 2025 after leaving an indelible mark on his colleagues and the industry, particularly during his tenure with SMT. His work was more than a job; it was a source of immense pride, and he relished the opportunity it provided to share his passion for precision and innovation. Scott's life was a vibrant tapestry of rock 'n' roll music, sports, tattoos, video games, and classic cars. He had an infectious enthusiasm for attending concerts, where he immersed himself in the energy and community of music lovers. His mornings were never complete without a steaming cup of coffee, a ritual he cherished. Scott's appreciation for classic cars was legendary among his friends and family, and he could spend hours discussing the nuances of the ’66 Chevelle and the ’70 Roadrunner. Above all, Scott's greatest joy came from his family. He was a loving father to Phillip Abbott and his wife Jessica, Ashley Boyce and fiancé Oscar Valentin, Justin Abbott and his wife Michelle, and Steven Abbott and his fiancé Alex Nettleton. His seven grandchildren: Aiden, Elly, Devin, Logan, Luna, Rainn, and Ruby were the light of his life, and he adored spending time with them, sharing his stories and laughter. Scott's family also included his siblings Randy Abbott, Kate Simmons, and Greg Hunt, who were his lifelong companions. Scott was blessed with a circle of close friends who enriched his life with camaraderie and support. Maurice Fowler, Michael McAnallen, Todd Handel, Becky McAnallen, Lorie Wichrowski, and Bryan Gallo were among those who shared countless memories and adventures with him. Scott Abbott's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. His laughter, love, and legacy will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. He is survived by his former wife, Joan Vinci, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage and four beloved children
