It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude that we celebrate the life of Scott A. Reed, who passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 58, surrounded by the love of his life, Sonya, as he peacefully took his last breath. Born on October 26, 1967, in Louisville, KY, Scott was a beacon of joy, strength, and generosity to all who knew him. Scott was the beloved son of Charles Allan Reed and Edna Lou (Duff) Reed, whose nurturing spirits shaped him into the remarkable man he became. A proud graduate of Central High School, Scott channeled his talents into a career as a skilled carpenter, crafting not only structures but also lasting relationships along the way. His hands built more than just homes; they built a legacy of hard work and dedication. On June 30, 2007, Scott married the love of his life, Sonya Reed, fondly known as "The Warden" by Scott, a testament to the playful and enduring bond they shared over 23 beautiful years. Together, they nurtured a family filled with laughter, love, and loyalty. Scott was a devoted father to ten cherished children: Alan Warfield, Andre Starling, Jonathan (Paige) Jackson, Paige (Sam) Lake, Scott Alan Reed Jr., Dashawn Roberts, Shanae Roberts, Eddie (Kaneisha) Roberts, Antonio Roberts, and Dezirae Roberts. His legacy continues through his 18 adored grandchildren, each carrying forward his infectious joy and generosity of spirit. Scott's siblings, Larry (Valeria) Reed, Marion Reed, Shalonda Reed, Charles Reed Jr., Ella Mae Averitte, Phyllis Reed, Donna Reed, and James (Marty) Reed, along with his in-laws, Timothy (Shana) Roberts, Anthony (Cassandra) Roberts, and Kathy Roberts, will forever hold his memory dear. His expansive family includes countless nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by his kindness and humor. An active member of Greater Salem Baptist Church, Scott served faithfully as an usher, his welcoming smile a comforting presence to all. His love for community shone brightly as he volunteered to distribute meals during Thanksgiving and Christmas, extending his heart to those in need. Scott's passion for grilling was legendary, as he turned every gathering into a celebratory feast, and his enthusiasm for coaching his son's sports teams underscored his dedication to nurturing young talent. Scott's laughter, especially around his grandchildren, was contagious, lighting up every room he entered. His unwavering support for the Louisville Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys showcased his loyalty and passion, cheering them on regardless of the scoreboard. Scott embodied selflessness, offering rides, financial support, and a helping hand to anyone in need, always prioritizing his family's well-being above all else. The Reed family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this time. Their message is simple yet profound: "Thank you for giving us a lifetime of beautiful memories, guidance, and unwavering love. We will carry your love and lessons with us always." A celebration of Scott's life will be held at Greater Salem Baptist Church, where his spirit will be honored and remembered. As we gather to bid farewell, let us cherish the memories and lessons Scott imparted, knowing his legacy of love and laughter will endure in our hearts forever.
