December 19, 1949 — March 9, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Saundra Jean Harris, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who departed this world on March 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on December 19, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Saundra was the cherished daughter of Alma C. Harris and Ozell W. Harris. Her life was one filled with love, faith, and dedication to those she held dear. Saundra grew up in the heart of Columbus, where the values of community and compassion were instilled in her from a young age. She graduated from West High School in 1968, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness that touched everyone she met. With a keen mind and a diligent spirit, Saundra advanced her education by earning an Associate Degree in Business Administration, a testament to her perseverance and commitment to personal growth. A devoted Christian and a longstanding member of Oakley Baptist Church, Saundra's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her church community benefited greatly from her generosity and unwavering spirit, as she contributed not only her time but also her boundless compassion and love. Saundra's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a proud and loving mother to her sons, Jeffrey L. Harris and Kevin L. Harris, who were the center of her world. Her legacy also lives on through her brother, Charles R. Harris, her sister-in-law, Martha A. Harris, and her dear friend, Michelle E. Calloway. Saundra's home was always open, a place where laughter was shared and love was abundant. In times of reflection, Saundra’s family shares this heartfelt message: "In Our Hearts. We thought of you today. But that's nothing new. We thought about you yesterday. And the days before that too. We think of you in silence. We often speak your name. Now all we have is memories. And your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake. With which we will never part. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our hearts. Your wings were ready. But our hearts were not." Saundra was a pillar of strength and grace, whose memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her life was a beautiful testament to love’s enduring power and faith's unwavering promise. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life lived with purpose, joy, and an abiding love for family and friends. A memorial service to honor Saundra's life will be held at Oakley Baptist Church, where her spirit will be celebrated, and her life remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the church in Saundra's memory, ensuring her legacy of faith and community continues to bless others. Rest in peace, dear Saundra. Your love and light have left a lasting imprint on our hearts.
