August 7, 1935 — March 26, 2026
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Sarah Wilson, who left this world on March 26, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on August 7, 1935, to Dewey and Elizabeth O'Kelley, Sarah's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Sarah grew up in a close-knit family, surrounded by her siblings Horris, Clyde, Johnny, Faye, and Joyce. Though they have all predeceased her, the bonds they shared were an integral part of her life, and their spirits remained ever-present in her heart.
In 1958, Sarah answered the call of duty and proudly served in the Army until 1961. Her time in the military was marked by dedication and courage, attributes that would define her character throughout her life.
In 1962, Sarah married the love of her life, Donald Wilson, with whom she shared a beautiful journey until his passing. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and love, raising two wonderful children, Pennie and David, who were the center of her world. Her family continued to grow, blessing her with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Sarah was a woman of varied interests, but her passion for golf was unparalleled. She spent countless hours on the greens, enjoying not just the sport but the camaraderie it fostered with her many dear friends. Her love for the game was only matched by her love for those she played with, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime.
As a matriarch, Sarah's warmth and kindness extended beyond her immediate family. Her nieces and nephews were deeply cherished, and her home was often filled with the laughter of family gatherings, where she was always the heart of the celebration.
Throughout her life, Sarah embodied a spirit of generosity and compassion. She was a beacon of strength for her family, offering guidance with an open heart and listening ear. Her legacy is one of love and resilience, lessons she imparted to her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sarah Wilson's life was a tapestry of love, family, and friendship. While she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever resonate in the lives she touched. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved husband and family in the realm of eternal peace.
A celebration of Sarah's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of choice, in memory of Sarah's generous spirit.
Sarah's journey may have ended, but her story lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
