Sarah Tallon Bilecky

April 8, 1937 — November 24, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Tallon Bilecky, a beloved mother, grandmother, educator, and friend, who departed this world on November 24, 2025, at the age of 88. Her journey ended at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, yet her spirit and legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her. Sarah was born on April 8, 1937, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Ralph and Dorothy Rollman Tallon. She was raised in a home filled with love and laughter, qualities that she carried with her throughout her life. Her parents, Ralph and Dorothy, predeceased her, as did her devoted husband, Anatole T. Bilecky, and her son-in-law, Douglas Mark Cerasoli. She is survived by her loving children, Nina Bilecky Cerasoli, Alexandra Bilecky Black, and Theodore Anatole Bilecky, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and curiosity. Sarah’s educational journey began at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, where she graduated in 1955. Her passion for learning led her to Michigan State University, where she earned a degree in Spanish. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Michigan. Her academic pursuits became the foundation of a remarkable career dedicated to teaching and nurturing minds. Sarah worked as a Spanish teacher, English teacher, and ESL teacher, serving students both in the United States and abroad at American international schools. In September 1965, Sarah married the love of her life, Anatole Bilecky, in a heartfelt ceremony in Chicago, Illinois. Together, they built a life filled with love, adventure, and shared dreams. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, qualities they passed on to their children and grandchildren. Sarah was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a grandmother of eight cherished grandchildren: Jonas Black, Rebecca Cerasoli, Jesse Black, Rachel Black, Mark Cerasoli, Rusty Black, Max Cerasoli, and Autumn Black. She relished every moment spent with them, always eager to hear about their latest adventures and achievements. Her home was a place of warmth and encouragement, where each grandchild found a listening ear and a loving heart. An avid reader and a passionate volunteer at the Democratic National Committee in Washington, DC, Sarah was deeply engaged in the world around her. She enjoyed a good political debate and was always up-to-date with current events. Her inquisitive nature and zest for life were infectious, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Sarah’s life was a testament to the power of education, love, and service. Her legacy will continue in the lives of her family, her students, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her indomitable spirit and unwavering love will be dearly missed but fondly remembered. In accordance with her wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Sarah’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice, reflecting the values Sarah held dear: education, community service, and compassion. Sarah Tallon Bilecky’s life was a beautiful journey, and her memory will be cherished forever. She leaves behind a family that is stronger and more united because of her enduring love and wisdom.
