July 5, 1960 — September 2, 2026

Sarah Laughs, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in the company of her loved ones on September 2, 2026. Born on July 5, 1960, in Gary, Indiana, Sarah was a beacon of joy and warmth to everyone who crossed her path. Daughter to the late Bill and Mary Laughs, Sarah was predeceased by her cherished Uncle Joe, grandma Peggy, and grandpa Bowie. She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, her three loving sons Adam, Luke, and Ben, and her six adored grandchildren, Pete, Lucy, Gretchen, Frank, Lilly, and Paul. Her family was the center of her world, and her legacy will continue to shine through them. A proud alumna of Lakemont High School, Class of 1971, Sarah dedicated 45 years to teaching, touching countless young lives as a grade school teacher. Her passion for education and her students was evident every day, and she leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and kindness that will not soon be forgotten. Sarah's commitment to service extended beyond the classroom. She served her country for four years in the Vietnam War, a testament to her courage and selflessness. She was also an active member of the Lions Club, where she worked tirelessly to serve her community. Known for her infectious laughter and generous spirit, Sarah had a personality that could light up any room. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, singing, and spending cherished moments at the family lake house, where she taught her children and grandchildren the joys of fishing for muskie and the art of shooting a BB gun off the porch. Her kind smile and the warmth she exuded will be dearly missed. In honor of Sarah's lifelong dedication to helping others, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization close to her heart. Sarah Laughs was a loving and generous soul whose life was a testament to the power of kindness, laughter, and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, forever cherished and never forgotten.
