In Loving Memory of Sarah D. Dougan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sarah D. Dougan on September 3, 2026. Born on March 19, 1988, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Sarah graced the world with her presence, bringing joy and light to all who knew her. She passed peacefully, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.
Sarah was the cherished daughter of the late Sharon Rose Dougan and Robert Dougan. She is predeceased by her parents and her dear brother, Mitchell Dougan. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Zoey Joint, who was not only her pride and joy but also her closest companion and best friend. Sarah also leaves behind her loving brother, Jacob Dougan, who stood by her side throughout her life. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Abigial and Aiden Dougan, and several aunts and uncles as well.
A proud graduate of Central Tech High School (now Erie High School), Sarah furthered her education at Tri-State College. Her career spanned 13 years as a dedicated receptionist at SpringHill, where her warm welcome and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impression on colleagues and visitors alike. Though she harbored dreams of becoming an interior designer, Sarah's true design was in the hearts she touched and the lives she enriched.
Sarah's life was filled with simple joys and cherished moments. She adored spending time with her daughter, whether coloring for hours, enjoying beach days, or binge-watching their favorite shows. "Gilmore Girls" was particularly special to them, as it mirrored the close bond they shared. Her love of dark romance novels and her infectious laughter were staples of her personality, leaving all who knew her with fond memories of her humor and warmth.
Sarah's smile was a beacon of light, her laughter a remedy for any ailment, and her facial expressions could light up the room. She was a treasure to her family and friends, a soul whose humor and kindness will be dearly missed.
In honoring Sarah's life, her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who provided support during her final days. Special thanks go to Lisa Greenwood, her devoted caregiver, her brother Jacob and her daughter Zoey, whose strength and devotion were a testament to the love that surrounded Sarah in her journey.
