Sarah Aileen Litton

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sarah Aileen Litton, who departed this world on August 23, 2026, at the age of 86. Sarah was born on February 20, 1940, in Plateau, Alabama, to Samuel and Lilly Stanley. Sarah's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and service. She devoted 48 years to the beauty industry after graduating from Beauty School in 1958. Her career was not only a testament to her skill and creativity but also to her unwavering commitment to making others feel beautiful. In the later years of her career, Sarah found great fulfillment in volunteering at a local nursing home in Temple, Texas, where she resided with her husband, Curtis Litton, for over two decades before returning to her roots in Alabama. A woman of faith, Sarah was an active member of The Providence Baptist Church in Georgiana, Alabama, and later attended Pathway Church upon her return to Mobile. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found immense joy in her church community. Sarah's passions extended beyond her professional life. She was an avid bowler, participating regularly in the lady's league in Temple, Texas, and she found solace and creativity in quilting with friends in Georgiana. Her hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit and her love for community and companionship. Family was at the heart of Sarah's life. She is remembered with love by her children: Norman W. Fuqua, Cathy R. Irvine, Pamela Patregnani, and Samuel Eugene Fuqua. Sarah's siblings, Ester Flowers and Samuel Frank Stanley, also survive her. She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Litton; her son, Stuart L. Fuqua; her brother, George W. Stanley; and her parents, Samuel and Lilly Stanley. Her love and legacy live on through her family, especially in the cherished moments spent together during Christmas holidays. The family would like to extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Amedisys Hospice. Their care and support were invaluable during her final days. Special thanks are given to April, Volanta, pastoral care from Daniel Brown, and Tina, whose kindness and dedication provided comfort to our mother and her family in those precious moments. A service to honor and celebrate Sarah's remarkable life will be held on August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home, located at 8691 Old Pascagoula Road. Sarah Aileen Litton leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
