With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sara Ricci Vuoso, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left this world on June 11, 2026. Sara passed peacefully at home in Ladera Ranch, California, after a courageous six-year journey as a survivor and thriver of brain cancer. She was surrounded by the warmth and love of her family during her final moments.
Born on February 15, 1977, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sara was the cherished daughter of Albert Joseph Ricci and Angela Marie Ricci (DiFalco). Her early years were filled with love and laughter, enriched by the wisdom and stories from her grandparents, Albert Saverio Ricci "Blue," Helen Josephine Ricci (Pinciaro), Edmund Americo DiFalco "Iggy," and Florence Elizabeth DiFalco (DiCrease), who predeceased her but left an indelible mark on her heart.
Sara's journey through life was marked by her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She graduated from Spring Hill High School in Longview in 1995, before pursuing higher education at Texas Christian University, where she graduated in 1999. Her thirst for knowledge and passion for teaching led her to earn a Master's in Education and a teaching credential from Western Governors University in 2020.
Sara proudly served her country as an acquisitions officer in the United States Air Force from 1999 to 2005, contributing to the Milstar Satellite program. Her service was a testament to her dedication and strength, qualities she carried into her role as an educator. Sara touched the lives of countless students, sharing her love for learning and offering her expertise in math as a devoted tutor.
On July 11, 2003, in the picturesque setting of San Pedro, California, Sara married the love of her life, Paul Christopher Vuoso. Together, they built a life filled with love, devotion, and faith, raising two wonderful sons, Adam Paul Vuoso and Jake Ricci Vuoso. Sara considered her role as a mother her proudest achievement, and she dedicated herself wholly to nurturing and guiding her boys in the ways of love and faith.
An active and proud member of the Holy Trinity Parish in Ladera Ranch, Sara's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her involvement in the parish community was a reflection of her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to her beliefs.
Sara embraced life with passion and joy, finding happiness in the simple pleasures of running, playing pickleball, and spending time in the kitchen. Her culinary talents were legendary among family and friends, particularly her homemade sausage and pasta, which were crafted with love and shared with all.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Vuoso, and their sons, Adam and Jake, who will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Her fantastic brother, Brian Adam Ricci, will forever cherish the memories they created together.
A celebration of Sara's remarkable life will be held on June 25, 2026, at Holy Trinity Church in Ladera Ranch, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to cancer research organizations, in honor of Sara's brave and inspiring battle.
Sara Ricci Vuoso's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and faith. Her memory will be cherished forever, and her spirit will live on in the lives of those she touched.
