September 2, 1944 — May 6, 2026

Sara Helen (Hall) Rajcevich, a beloved matriarch, devoted friend, and faithful servant of her community, passed peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. Born on September 2, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to Jacob Wayne and Helen Hall, Sara's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Sara's journey began in Detroit but soon led her to Mason City and Spirit Lake, Iowa, where she graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1962. Her career path took her from working as an administrative assistant at B.A. Kennedy to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Alongside her devoted husband, Joseph F. Rajcevich, whom she married on May 25, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sara owned and operated a Sears catalog store and the Ice Cream Shoppe in Prairie du Chien. In 1985, she moved to Phoenix and diligently managed the bookkeeping for the family's maintenance company for over three decades. A strong Christian woman, Sara was deeply involved in her church and women's Bible studies. As a member of the Church of Joy in Peoria, Arizona, she was known for her quiet, yet fervent prayers for her family and friends. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing solace in times of need. Sara's love for her family was boundless. She and Joe, her husband of nearly 50 years, cultivated a nurturing home filled with laughter and warmth. Together, they raised a blended family of four children: Shelly (Robin) Lenzendorf of Eastman, WI, Tom Lindroth of Whitefish, MT, Carrie (Alan) Stephens of Phoenix, AZ, and Gina (Rich) Seideman of Rome, NY. Her legacy is further carried on by her brothers, David Hall and Henry (Sheryl) Hall, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Known for her gift of hospitality, Sara had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her home was a haven where delicious meals were shared, and special occasions were celebrated with thoughtful gifts. She relished in decorating her home and garden, creating spaces of beauty and comfort. Her grandchildren, who she adored, were often the beneficiaries of her keen eye for impending danger and her deep affection. Among her kids, she carried the endearing nickname of "Dr. Sara" for her sage advice on any ailment. Sara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe, her parents, and her cherished granddaughter, Sedona Seideman. Though her passing leaves a profound void, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched. A celebration of Sara's life will be held on July 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the South Pavilion in Lawler Park, Prairie du Chien, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Sara's memory to Feed My Starving Children, a cause close to her heart, at https://www.fmsc.org. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Emplify Hospice in West Union, Iowa, for the exceptional care provided to Sara in her final year. Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her.
