Sara Crago
May 19, 1976 — June 12, 2026
In loving memory of Sara Crago, who peacefully departed this world on June 12, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 19, 1976, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Sara lived a life full of love, compassion, and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know her.
Sara was the cherished daughter of Cathy Jane Stone and the late Dewey Arthur McCarty, whose memory she held dear throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her son, Andrew James Gerardot, who was the light of her life and her greatest pride. She is also survived by her loving brother, James Lee McCarty, and her dear mother, Cathy Jane Stone, who stood by Sara's side with unwavering support and love.
A graduate of New Haven High School's Class of 1994, Sara's heart was drawn to nurturing and educating young minds. Her career as a preschool teacher was not just a job but a calling, where she poured her boundless love and kindness into every child she taught. Her compassionate spirit also shone through her roles as an administrative assistant at George’s Medical Supplies and as a customer care representative at LinCare Medical Supply, where her dedication to caring for others was evident to all.
Sara’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Tilman Road Church of God in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Her role as a Sunday school teacher allowed her to share her faith and values with the next generation, imparting lessons of love, kindness, and community.
Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Sara found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid cook and baker, known for her delicious cookies that brought smiles to the faces of schoolchildren and friends alike. She had a passion for the arts, particularly theater, and enjoyed the lively excitement of NASCAR and Ft. Wayne Komet hockey games. Her fondness for Mickey Mouse was a charming reflection of her joyful and whimsical spirit.
Sara's life was a testament to the power of kindness and generosity. She was a beacon of love and care in her community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and she was a true friend and neighbor to many.
As her family shares their sorrow and celebrates her life, they find comfort in the words of John 3:16 (KJV), a scripture that resonated deeply with Sara and guided her throughout her journey: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Sara Crago’s legacy is one of love, faith, and selfless giving. Her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, forever cherished and never forgotten. A celebration of her life will be held at Tilman Road Church of God, where friends and family will gather to honor a woman who truly embodied the spirit of love and grace.
