Sara Ann Veasley, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 20, 2026. Born on January 28, 1942, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Sara was the cherished daughter of the late John Veasley Sr. and Dorthy Kimbrough. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Ruth London, and is survived by her loving children, Trent Veasley, Rebecca Crump, and Mary Simmons. Her legacy continues to live on through her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sara shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Dump Sylvester Branch. United in marriage on June 15, 1975, in Grenada, Mississippi, they celebrated 48 years of love and companionship, raising a family that was the center of their world. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, warmth, and enduring love. For over 40 years, Sara was an active and cherished member of the First Baptist Church, where her faith and fellowship were integral parts of her life. She was also a longtime member of the Eastern Star Club, serving as its president in 1995. Her commitment and dedication to her community were evident in every facet of her life. Sara was an avid fisherman, never missing an opening day, and found great joy in the simple pleasures of tending her vegetable garden. She delighted in sharing the fruits of her labor, especially her home-grown tomatoes, with friends and neighbors. Moreover, her skill in sewing was a gift she bestowed upon her grandchildren, crafting beautiful blankets that will be treasured forever. Known for her quick wit and warm smile, Sara had a remarkable ability to bring light and laughter to any room. Her humor was matched by her profound kindness and generosity, qualities that made everyone feel welcome and valued in her presence. Sara's life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and compassion, touching countless lives along the way. A service to honor and celebrate Sara’s life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at New Bethlehem M.B Church, located at 2042 Attala Rd 4230, Sallis, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, continuing Sara’s legacy of generosity and care. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Sara’s final days. As they reflect on a life well-lived, they find comfort in the memories and love she leaves behind. "Forever in our Hearts" is how Sara will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
