August 10, 1988 — September 21, 2026

Santita Lanija Witcher, lovingly known as Sandy, passed away on September 21, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Born on August 10, 1988, in Toledo, Ohio, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Nicole Witcher/Files and Derek Haynes. Sandy was a beacon of joy and warmth, possessing a smile that could light up any room and eyes filled with hope. Her generous spirit was evident to everyone she met; she was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Her infectious laughter, especially when she would rap or exclaim, "Is you cool?" during good times, will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her great-grandmother, Alberta Witcher, grandmothers Sandra Witcher and Marion Richardson, and her brother Jeffery Miller. Despite these losses, Sandy's life was full of love and connection. She leaves behind her devoted parents, Nicole Files and Derek Haynes Senior, and her cherished children: daughter Ty’onna and sons Freddy and Messiah Hendricks. Her memory will also be held dear by her sisters Sttarrlet Witcher, Bre’Anna and Dan’Earlla Graves, Tanisha and Marian Haynes, and her brothers Bre’Sean Graves, Derek Haynes Jr., Daryl Lewis, Eric (Mandy) Manuel, and Dominique Jones. Sandy was a treasured goddaughter to Tieshetta Witcher and a beloved god sister to Anastasha White. Her "faves," special cousins Kyonda Witcher and Dominque Ottrix, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, will continue to celebrate her life and remember the joy she brought into theirs. A proud alumna of Polly Fox Academy, Sandy was a woman of many passions. She found joy in skating, taking walks, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a loving grandmother of three, whose presence brought immense joy to her life. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on October 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests making donations to a charity of your choice in her honor. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Explores Academy, Jamaican Regge Kitchen and Lounge, House of Day, and The Wolf Pack for the support and love shown during this difficult time. Sandy's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her. She taught us the true meaning of living life with enthusiasm and love, and her memory will continue to inspire us all.
