Sandra Michelle Purnell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026. Born on April 26, 1968, in Chicago, Illinois, Sandra lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. The daughter of the late Robert and Mary Purnell, Sandra grew up in a nurturing environment that fostered her caring nature. Predeceased by her parents, brother Robert Earl Purnell, sister Debbie Purnell, and her beloved son Kareem Purnell, Sandra now joins them in eternal rest. Sandra’s heart was expansive, embracing not only her immediate family but also her community. She dedicated many years of her life to home health care, a career that perfectly suited her giving spirit. Sandra found immense joy in helping others, and her kindness and empathy left a lasting impact on those she cared for. She was cherished by many, including her devoted husband, Aaron Farrior, who stood by her side through life's journey. Together, they created a loving family, blessed with sons Arnold, Cornelius, Matias and his wife Gabby, and Marcus, as well as daughters Megan and her husband Chris, and Keanna. Sandra’s legacy of love is carried on by her 23 grandchildren: Kareem, Gino, Areyhana, Aariyanna, Quentrice, Cornelius, Kristyana, Quentin, Aiyana, Krisshia, Ashairri, Amiya, Tia, Aaron Jr., Christopher, Aarion, Jaylen, Jakayla, Cheris, Journey, Krislynn, Kareem, and Keon. Each of them was the light of her life, and they will forever hold her in their hearts. Sandra is also survived by her sister, Sheila Purnell-Williams and her husband Guy, and a large extended family, including 8 nieces, Quteasha, Kenesha and her husband Kameron, Ellena and her husband Emir, Mary and her husband Demond Jr., Marrisa and her daughters Mecca and Mirah, Monesha, Chardonnay, Roshunda Purnell, and a nephew, Chad'on. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Sandra’s warmth, laughter, and unwavering support for her loved ones will be sorely missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. In honor of Sandra’s life and her passion for helping others, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
