Sandra Mae Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Mae Jones, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world peacefully on November 2, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family in Halls, TN. Born on April 24, 1949, in Memphis, TN, Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late E.C. Mckinley Gilliland and the late Martha Archer Gilliland Crider. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Bobby D. Jones, her beloved son, James Matthew Thomason Sr., and her dear sister, Loretta Ballard. Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family, survived by her loving daughter, Sandrea Rena Wright and her husband Tim of Jonesboro, AR. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Fincher and her husband Jackie, and her brother, Noel Gilliland, both of Frog Jump, TN. Sandra's memory will be cherished by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. A dedicated worker, Sandra spent many years at ABB, where she was known for her diligence and commitment. Later in life, she embraced the role of a caregiver, devoting over 15 years to caring for her mother with unwavering love and compassion. Her nurturing spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, as she selflessly sacrificed for her family, providing them with care and affection. Sandra found great solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener, spending countless hours tending to her flower beds and yard. Her love for the outdoors was matched only by her love for her home and family. She enjoyed watching "The Walton's" on television, a show that resonated with her values and love for family. A woman of deep faith, Sandra's love for the Lord was the foundation of her life. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting impression on her community and loved ones. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sandra's life at a service to be held on November 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Archers Chapel, located at 339 Archers Chapel Rd, Halls, TN 38040. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Sandra's memory. Sandra Mae Jones was a beacon of love and strength, whose life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and devotion. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
