Sandra Lou

June 23, 1938 — May 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Sandra Lou Taylor, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sandra departed this world on May 11, 2026, at the age of 87, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Her enduring strength and grace in the face of adversity were a testament to her indomitable spirit. Sandra Lou was born on June 23, 1938, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to William Orville "Bud" Thompson and Reith May (Allen) Thompson. She was a cherished daughter and sister, joining her parents and sister Marla K. Parsley in eternal rest, alongside her infant daughter Jennifer, whom she held close in her heart every day. Raised in Middletown, Ohio, Sandra graduated from Middletown High School in 1956, where she fostered a love for learning and developed friendships that would last a lifetime. Her journey through life was marked by her passion for antiquing, her skill with a sewing needle, and her affection for the many cats that brought joy to her days. In 1988, Sandra married Robert Lee Taylor and embarked on a beautiful chapter of life together. Over 38 years of marriage, they shared countless memories, first in West Carrollton, Ohio, where Sandra lovingly raised her children, and later in Easley, South Carolina. Their journey came full circle in 2026 when they returned to Ohio to be near family, a testament to Sandra's enduring commitment to those she loved. Sandra leaves behind a legacy of love in her surviving family: her devoted husband Robert, her children Kim (James) Scott and Rob (Cathie) Newburg, and her beloved grandchildren Alonzo, Aqualla, and Danielle, who were the light of her life. She also embraced four great-grandchildren with open arms, always cherishing their visits and stories. Sandra's family extended through her marriage to Robert, welcoming four stepchildren—Michelle Taylor, Sandra (John) Lakes, Alissa Sebald, and Robert Taylor II—into her heart, alongside five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Her generosity of spirit knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of each family member with her warmth and kindness. Though Sandra's presence will be profoundly missed, her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her love of family, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life. A private ceremony will be held to honor Sandra's memory, in accordance with her wishes. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Parkinson's research, in hopes of finding a cure that will honor Sandra's brave fight. Sandra Lou Taylor, with her warmth, grace, and love, made the world a better place. She will forever be remembered for the light she brought into our lives and the love she shared so freely.
