Born on February 21, 1948, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Sandra was the beloved daughter of Shirley (Germain) and Ralph Wenners. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mark Wenners. Sandra's spirit and legacy continue to thrive through her devoted husband, Robert "Bigbob" Kulig, Sr., whom she married on August 1, 2015, following nearly two decades of companionship. Sandra's life was a tapestry of love and dedication to her family. She is survived by her children, Cheri Lynn Steigmeyer (Dave), Jeffrey Steigmeyer (Kim), and Brian Steigmeyer (Aimee), as well as her stepchildren, Robert (Lisa) and Kimberly. Her nurturing presence and kind heart were cherished by her grandchildren, Abigail, Zacary, Alexandria, Jake, Ethan, Kellan, Regan, and Peyton, and her great-granddaughters, Stella and Lenny. Sandra is also survived by her siblings, Frank (Lynn) and Curt (Denise), and her sister-in-law, Pat. Sandra's journey through life was marked by her deep commitment to family and community. A 1966 graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield, Sandra found fulfillment in her role as an office manager at Tac Medical Home Nursing Services. Her compassion and dedication to caring for others touched countless lives. Sammy's retirement in 2004 marked the beginning of a joyful chapter filled with travel, culinary adventures, and family gatherings. She relished Sunday dinners, picnics, and hosting special occasions, always with a warm smile and welcoming heart. Her love for the ocean was evident in her fondness for York Beach, Ogunquit, and Melbourne Beach, where she and Bob split their time, creating homes filled with laughter and love. Sandra was an avid traveler, seeking adventure on ocean and river cruises to Europe, the Caribbean, and beyond. Her zest for life and ability to bring joy to those around her was unparalleled. Whether she was cooking a delicious meal, celebrating a milestone, or embarking on a new journey, Sandra's presence was a beacon of warmth and happiness. As we remember Sandra Lee Kulig, let us celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her spirit will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to those she leaves behind. A private family service will be held to honor Sandra's memory.
