Sandra Lee Kulig, affectionately known as "Sam" or "Sammy" by those who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away on March 7, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on February 21, 1948, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Sandra was a beacon of love, strength, and joy throughout her 78 years. Sandra was the cherished daughter of the late Shirley (Germain) and Ralph Wenners, and she was predeceased by her brother, Mark Wenners. Sandra's spirit and compassion will be remembered and celebrated by her loving husband, Robert Kulig, Sr., also fondly known as "Bigbob." Their love story began over 28 years ago, and they were married on August 1, 2015. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and travel, splitting their time between Ludlow, Massachusetts, and Melbourne Beach, Florida, while creating a home filled with warmth and happiness. Sandra was a proud graduate of the High School of Commerce in Springfield, Mass, class of 1966. Her dedication and organizational skills led her to a fulfilling career as an office manager at Tac Medical Home Nursing Services, where she made a lasting impact with her kindness and professionalism. Known for her generous spirit and passion for bringing people together, Sandra was a masterful cook, often hosting Sunday dinners, family picnics, and special celebrations that were the heart of her family life. She delighted in preparing lavish meals that brought smiles and comfort to all who gathered at her table. Retirement in 2004 opened a new chapter for Sandra, one filled with adventures and travels. She found great joy in exploring York Beach, Ogunquit, and spending winters in the beauty of Melbourne Beach. Sandra's love for travel took her on ocean and river cruises across Europe, the Caribbean, and the United States, experiences she cherished and shared with her loved ones. Sandra's family was the center of her universe. She is survived by her beloved children, Cheri Lynn Steigmeyer (Dave), Jeffrey Steigmeyer (Kim), and Brian Steigmeyer (Aimee), as well as her stepchildren, Robert (Lisa) and Kimberly. Her legacy lives on in her eight grandchildren, Abigal, Zacary, Alexandria, Jake, Ethan, Kellan, Regan, and Peyton, and her two great-granddaughters, Stella and Lenny. Sandra is also survived by her siblings, Frank (Lynn) and Curt (Denise), and her sister-in-law, Pat. Sandra's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. Her warmth and laughter brightened the lives of everyone she met, and her ability to find joy in life's simple pleasures served as an inspiration to all. As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, we find solace in knowing that Sandra's spirit will continue to guide and uplift those she loved. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved. Sandra Lee Kulig will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who knew her.
