Sandra L. Nash
May 18, 1945 — October 14, 2026
The world lost a cherished soul as Sandra L. Nash, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at Carefree Living in McGregor, Minnesota. Born on May 18, 1945, in Hopkins, Minnesota, Sandy was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and humor to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sandy was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth Nash, who preceded her in death, along with her siblings Patricia Nash, Candace Hestad, Theodore Nash, Alan Nash, and Michael Nash. She is survived by her devoted spouse, Kaye Fredensborg, with whom she shared a loving marriage since September 11th. Sandy is also remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her boundless love and infectious laughter.
A proud alumna of Hopkins High School, Sandy dedicated many years to the postal service, where she held various positions, showcasing her versatility and dedication. Beyond her professional life, Sandy was deeply committed to her community, volunteering her time at the local food shelf and state fair, always ready to lend a helping hand and a warm smile.
Sandy had a profound love for the outdoors, often found camping with friends or traveling to new destinations with Kaye. Her garden was her sanctuary, where she nurtured life and beauty with the same care she gave to her relationships. She found joy in simple pleasures, such as reading, knitting, and doting on her beloved cat. Her enthusiasm for sports was infectious, as she cheered passionately for the Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.
Her talents were as varied as her interests; Sandy could light up a room with her jokes, play the piano and guitar with grace, and her singing voice was nothing short of beautiful. Above all, Sandy cherished her family, treasuring every moment spent with them.
In honor of Sandy's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the local food shelf or humane society, organizations that resonated deeply with Sandy's generous spirit.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Carefree Living and the compassionate hospice care team for the extraordinary care and kindness they provided Sandy in her final days.
Sandy Nash will be remembered as the best aunt, a devoted partner, and a beloved friend. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all those who knew her.
