It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Sandra K. Hilderman, who departed this world on June 8, 2026, at the age of 82. She passed away peacefully at her home, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Sandra was born on March 23, 1944, in Glendale, California, to Victor Hilderman and Jean Kane. She was a spirited and joyful child, whose laughter and warmth brought light to everyone around her. Sandra was predeceased by her beloved parents, her cherished daughter, Sharon Amico, and is survived by her devoted sister, Linda Bawcom. Sandra's journey through life was graced by love and family. She was married to Arsen Machuhovsky, with whom she welcomed their beautiful daughter, Michelle Machuhovsky. Later, Sandra shared 30 wonderful years with Ed Barnhill, building a life together filled with love and cherished memories until their paths separated in 2012. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, especially her four grandchildren, Nicholas Lathrop, Christopher Lathrop, Robert G. Amico, and Lauren M. Amico, who brought immense happiness into her life. Sandra was a devoted and loving grandmother, whose nurturing spirit and endless support left a lasting impression on each of them. Sandra's educational journey led her to graduate from Lincoln High in 1963, after which she pursued a career as a dental assistant. Her passion for helping others guided her into the field of recovery, where she worked for over 20 years at various hospitals across the country. Her dedication and commitment to her work touched the lives of countless individuals, offering hope and healing to those in need. A woman of immense courage, strength, and faith, Sandra navigated life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her childlike joy and vibrant spirit were infectious, lighting up every room she entered. A true friend to many, she was always available to listen and lend a helping hand, embodying generosity and kindness in all her interactions. Sandra's life will be celebrated at the Canandaigua Episcopal Church on Friday, from 4-7 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the remarkable life she led. In Sandra's honor, we remember her for the love she shared, the laughter she spread, and the indelible impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and a reminder of the beauty of a life lived with purpose and compassion. Sandra K. Hilderman will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light and an inspiration to all.
