Sandra Jean Cressionnie

Sandra Jean Cressionnie, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on August 7, 1943, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Sandra was the cherished daughter of Eugene J. and Minnie L. Cressionnie, both of whom preceded her in death. Sandra's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering strength. She was a beacon of compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, and her independent spirit served as an inspiration to many. Sandra's kindness and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Sandra devoted many years of her professional life to the St. Bernard Parish School Board, where she worked as a secretary at Sebastien Roy School for 13 fulfilling years. Her dedication to the school and its community transformed her role into more than just a job; it became a privilege where she was deeply appreciated by staff, students, and parents alike. Beyond her career, Sandra's life was enriched by her love for her family, her passion for travel, and her fondness for reading. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories that will be cherished by her loved ones for generations to come. Sandra is survived by her devoted children: Angela Nicosia Devine and her husband John, Kelly Nicosia Wagner and her husband Chris, and Jeanine Nicosia Atkinson and her husband Johnny. Her loving spirit lives on in her grandchildren: Rhea Brining and her husband John, Leah Robinson and her husband Brett, Johnny Atkinson and his wife Alisha, Jace Atkinson and his wife Sarah, and Conner Wagner. Sandra was also a doting great-grandmother to Alexandra Rojas-Beltran and her husband Angel, Yovanny Vargas, Makayla Black, Tanner Atkinson, Preston Atkinson and step-great-grandchildren Ayden Devine and Christa Holiday. She was blessed to be a great-great-grandmother to Maribel and Jaziel Beltran. Sandra was preceded in death by her Step-Grandson Justin Salez. Sandra will be dearly missed by her step-grandchildren Amanda and Joanna Devine. A service celebrating Sandra's life will be held on September 24, 2026,Visitation 9:00 to 11 a.m. with mass following at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 2621 Colonial Blvd, Violet, LA 70092.She will be laid to rest at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Sandra's remarkable life and to share in the love she gave so effortlessly.
