In Loving Memory
Sandra Enid Alvarez
December 2, 1969 — March 15, 2026
With profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for having been part of her extraordinary journey, we announce the passing of Sandra Enid Alvarez, who left this world peacefully on March 15, 2026. Surrounded by the love of her family, Sandra took her final breath at home, ending her valiant battle with bladder cancer. She was 56 years old.
Sandra was born on December 2, 1969, in Brooklyn, NY, to Angel Luis Alvarez and Rosa Sanchez. She was the cherished daughter of Rosa, who predeceased her. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and joy.
A devoted mother, Sandra is survived by her beloved children Jayson, Xavier, Keyshla, Kelvin, Emanuel, and Neyshaliz, who were the center of her universe. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, each one a bright star in her life. Sandra's family was the cornerstone of her existence, and her nurturing spirit will forever be a guiding light for them.
Sandra is also survived by her brother, Julio, his wife, Cynthia and their children, as well as her cherished Aunt Juana. Her extended family of cousins Luz (Mark), Maria (Keith), Gladys (Greg), Maria Esther (Nelson), Santos (Mayda), and many more, along with her closest friends, Alma, Daniel, Kevin and her chihuahua Koky, will remember her with fondness and love.
Sandra was an avid dancer, her passion for salsa, bachata, and merengue evident in every step she took. She never missed a beat and brought life to every gathering with her infectious laughter and warmth. Her green thumb was matched only by her love for her family, as she found solace and joy in tending to her vegetable garden.
Her kindness was boundless, and she possessed an innate ability to make everyone around her feel cherished and valued. Sandra's smile, a beacon of hope and happiness, touched countless lives and leaves a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to honor Sandra's remarkable life will be held on March 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Jesus Pacto de Bendición Church, located at 1770 Park Street, Hartford, CT 06106. All who knew and loved Sandra are invited to join in celebrating her life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the memorial fund established in Sandra's honor: Sandra Enid Alvarez Memorial Fund. This fund will aid in continuing the support and love that Sandra so freely gave to others.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Hartford Hospital (ICU) and John Dempsey Hospital. A special thank you to the hospice team—Samantha, Cecilia, Ely, the nurses' aid, and other staff—who cared for Sandra with compassion and dignity, day and night. Your kindness and dedication provided comfort and peace in Sandra's final days, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
Sandra Enid Alvarez's life was a beautiful testament to love, laughter, and strength. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and joy that will forever inspire those she touched. May her spirit dance among the stars, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
