Sandra's life was a rich tapestry of love, dedication, and unyielding kindness. A proud graduate of Suttons Bay High School's class of 1963, Sandra married her high school sweetheart, David George Erickson, on March 7, 1964. Together, they created a beautiful life and family, marked by profound love and partnership until David's passing in October 2009.
Sandra was a devoted mother to her daughter, Paula Erickson, who carries forward her mother's legacy of warmth and compassion. Sandra was also a loving sister to David Brownlee and Nikki Brownlee Harris, who remain to cherish her memory.
Her professional life was marked by her exceptional organizational skills and unwavering dedication. Sandra worked alongside her husband as the office manager of their aerospace company, L.O.M. Corporation, before continuing her career as a secretary for Coldwell Banker Schmidt. Her work ethic and attention to detail were admired by all who had the privilege of working with her.
Sandra's passions extended beyond her professional endeavors. A certified master gardener from Michigan State University, Sandra found immense joy in nurturing her garden, where she cultivated not just plants, but also a legacy of beauty and tranquility. Her love for golf and sewing further enriched her life, providing moments of joy and creativity.
Sandra's heart was as vast as her interests. Known for her happy, kind, and compassionate nature, she touched many lives with her infectious humor and sweet, loving spirit. Her involvement as the secretary of her condo association for many years is a testament to her commitment to community and service.
An informal graveside service to celebrate Sandra's life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Veterans Drive, Traverse City, MI. Following the service, family and friends are invited to join for snacks and refreshments at Paula's home, where memories and love will be shared in honor of Sandra's beautiful soul.
