Samuel was born on September 10, 1949, in the warm embrace of Orangeburg, South Carolina, to his devoted parents, Samuel Lee Johnson Sr. and Clara Witherspoon. Throughout his years, Samuel was a beacon of strength and kindness, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. A dedicated family man, Samuel was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Williams Johnson, with whom he shared countless cherished memories and unwavering love. Samuel's life was also touched by the loss of his father, Samuel Lee Johnson Sr., and his brothers, Marion and Willie Johnson, each leaving an indelible mark on his heart. He held dear the memories of his family, finding solace in the bonds he shared with them. Survived by his son, Samuel Lee Johnson the 3rd, Samuel's legacy continues through the wisdom and integrity he instilled in him. His loving sister, Maggie Lee Powell, and brother, Robert Johnson, who will forever cherish the bonds they shared with their brother. Samuel's presence will also be deeply missed by his long line of nieces and nephews, all shared by his siblings.
