July 30, 1938 — September 20, 2026

Samuel Glen Goddard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 30, 1938, in Kingston, Tennessee, Sam was the cherished son of Vernon and Ann Goddard. Throughout his 88 years, he touched the lives of many with his unwavering kindness, infectious smile, and steadfast faith. Sam was a man who truly embodied the spirit of joy and gratitude. Known for his easy-going nature, he was always willing to lend a helping hand and never once uttered a complaint. His work ethic was unparalleled, and he approached every task with a sense of purpose and dedication. Sam's love for fishing, fixing things, and tending to his vegetable garden were more than hobbies; they were a testament to his appreciation for life's simple pleasures and his connection to the world around him. A devoted member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church, Sam served as a deacon for many years, offering his guidance and support to the community he held dear. He found great joy in standing before his congregation to testify to the goodness of the Lord, ever grateful for the blessings bestowed upon him and his family. Sam shared a remarkable 66-year marriage with Erma Goddard, the love of his life. Together, they built a family and a life filled with laughter, love, and faith. Their union was a beacon of love and partnership, admired by all who knew them. In honor of Sam's memory, the family kindly suggests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice, as a tribute to his generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others. As we celebrate Sam's life, we remember him not only for his gentle spirit and radiant smile but also for the way he lived his life—with humility, gratitude, and endless love for his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of faith and kindness that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, dear Sam. You will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
