Samuel “Adam” Tanner

Samuel “Adam” Tanner, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved friend, peacefully departed this world on August 14, 2026, just shy of his 47th birthday. Born on August 18, 1979, in Charleston, West Virginia, Adam was a spirited soul who lived a life full of love and dedication. Adam was the treasured son of Samuel Tanner and Connie Sears. He was raised in a family where warmth and kindness were abundant, as he was lovingly guided by his parents, his late grandparents Thelma Sears, Leo Cain, Harry Tanner, and Doris Tanner, and his brother Zach Tanner, who predeceased him. He graduated from Braxton County High School in 1997, marking the beginning of a journey defined by hard work and resilience. Adam dedicated much of his career to working on the pipeline, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. Above all, Adam was a loving father to his two daughters, Paige and Jonna Tanner, of Bellington, West Virginia. They were the light of his life, and he took immense pride in their achievements and the wonderful young women they have become. His legacy of love and integrity will undoubtedly be carried forward by them. Adam leaves behind a family that meant the world to him, including his father, Samuel, and stepmother, Debbie Tanner of Duck; his mother, Connie Sears of Gassaway; his sisters, Amanda Schoonover of Frametown, Destaney Jarrell of Nitro, Nicole Jarrell of Weston, and Samantha Tanner of Oceana; and his brothers, Jason Tanner of Ohio and Tristen Tanner of Pennsylvania. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and they will forever cherish the memories they created together. In honor of Adam's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. The family kindly requests privacy during this time of mourning. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Adam can be made to a charity of one's choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and care for others. Adam’s gentle smile, compassionate nature, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell to a man who touched so many lives, we find comfort in the knowledge that his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he loved.
