Sammy Joe Hegler

Sammy Joe Hegler passed away in his home August 28th, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 19th, 1942, in DeKalb, Texas. Sam was known for his warm smile and booming laughter. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Cora Hegler, and his brothers, Robert and Ray Neal. He is survived and cherished by a loving circle of family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the residence of Beate Willis, a dear friend, located at 925 N. Young Blvd, DeSoto, Texas. Sammy will be interred at the DFW Veteran Cemetery on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Sam’s honor to the American Cancer Society. Sammy Joe Hegler’s legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him, and his spirit will resonate in the stories shared by those who loved him.
