In Loving Memory of Sammie Darlene Berg Sammie Darlene Berg, affectionately known as Darlene, peacefully departed this world on October 29, 2026, surrounded by friends at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice Care. Born on March 30, 1936, in the charming town of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Darlene graced the lives of many with her gentle spirit and unwavering love. Darlene was a woman of remarkable talents and passions. She had a keen eye for detail and an incredible ability to transform simple fabrics and materials into beautiful creations through sewing and crafts. Her love for antiques was matched only by her talent for gardening, where her green thumb seemed magical, nurturing life in every corner of her home. Her home, indeed, was a testament to her meticulous care and pride, reflecting warmth and beauty that welcomed all who entered. Family meant everything to Darlene, and she cherished the bonds she shared with her loved ones. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond Berg; her parents; two dear daughters, Janet Leigh Cranford and Julie Michelle Pickett; and her brother and sister. Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family members: her sister, Jewel; her niece, Cindy Anderson; her grandsons, Christopher Cranford and Chad Cranford; and her cherished stepdaughters, Tammy Hammock and Terri Hammock. Darlene's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jackie Croft for the compassionate care and dedication shown to Darlene in her later years, and to her lifelong friend, Ruby Staton, whose steadfast friendship was a cherished gift throughout the years. A celebration of Darlene's life will be held on November 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the McRay Funeral Home, located at 99 Glenda Drive, Boaz, AL. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life lived with grace, kindness, and love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of choice, honoring Darlene’s generous spirit. Darlene's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit will forever bloom in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, beauty, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Sammie Darlene Berg welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
