April 28, 1938 — May 24, 2026

In loving memory of Sally Sacra Searcy Green, who peacefully departed this life on May 24, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Sally was born on April 28, 1938, in Kilgore, Texas, to the late William "Spot" Searcy and Mary Clementine Wilburn Searcy. A woman of grace and dignity, Sally's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family. Sally was a devoted homemaker and a woman of deep Christian faith, raising her family with unwavering dedication and love. She was married to her beloved husband, Lane Arden Green, on June 28, 1958, in Kilgore. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter in Bryan, Texas, while Lane completed his degree at Texas A&M College. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership that lasted 31 years until Lane's passing in 1989. Sally's education began in Kilgore before she moved on to Hawkins High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed her love for community and service. Her passion for helping others was evident in her 25 years of volunteer work as a Candy Striper at Good Shepherd Hospital. An active member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview, Hallsville First Baptist Church, and later Fellowship Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Sally dedicated countless hours to volunteer work within her church communities. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, inspiring those around her with her kindness and generosity. Sally found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was playing cards or board games with friends or cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and activities. Her gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued was a hallmark of her character. She never missed an opportunity to express her pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, encouraging them in all their endeavors. Sally is survived by her loving children: Russell Green and wife Debbie of Longview, Texas; David Green and wife Beth of Hallsville, Texas; and Jo Ann Green Snapp of Fate, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Waldo Searcy of Longview, Texas; her cherished grandchildren: Amanda and Brian (Beeper) Krause, Hunter and Brianna Green, Kaitlyn Green, Tyler and Emily Green, Chad Snapp, and Luke Snapp; and her beloved great-grandchildren: Kingston and Courtly Krause, Aiden Shaw, Coleman Jack Green, Noah, Sadie, and Jack Green. Sally also leaves behind a dear and special friend, Perry Miller, who was a sweet and special companion. In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was predeceased by her brother, Jerry Searcy of Bethany, Oklahoma. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Prime Care Hospice and Heritage Healthcare Center of Longview for their compassionate care and support during Sally's final days. In lieu of a formal service, Sally's immediate family will honor her life in a private graveside memorial. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on July 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Fellowship Baptist Church in Spring Hill, Texas. In her memory, donations can be made to St. Jude's or any Cancer Foundation of choice in the name of the Sally Searcy Green Memorial Fund. Sally's life was a shining example of love and service, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
