It is with profound sorrow and deep affection that we announce the passing of our beloved Sadie Gracelynn Bowen, who left this world on June 1, 2026, at the tender age of 12. Sadie passed peacefully in her childhood home in Ona, West Virginia, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Born on March 20, 2014, in the heart of Ona, Sadie was a beacon of light and joy to everyone who knew her. As a seventh-grade student at Barboursville Middle School, she was known for her infectious laughter and a smile that could brighten even the cloudiest of days. Her bubbly personality and radiant spirit left a lasting impression on her classmates, teachers, and everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Sadie found joy and purpose on the soccer field, where she played for two years. Her teammates admired her tenacity and the sheer delight she took in every game. Beyond her love for soccer, Sadie had a profound appreciation for music. She was especially fond of the bands Queen and Guns N' Roses, and the song "18 and Life" by Skid Row held a special place in her heart. Her love for music was a testament to her vibrant and dynamic spirit. A dedicated youth member at New Life Church for two years, Sadie embodied a spirit of kindness and empathy that was evident in her interactions with everyone she met. Her faith and involvement in the church community were sources of great comfort and joy to her. Sadie's warmth extended beyond her immediate family to her cherished friends, Cali Douglas, Carly Arthur, Brylie Harless, and Delaney Childers, with whom she shared countless memories and adventures. Her life, though brief, was a tapestry of love, laughter, and friendship. She is survived by her loving mother, Monica Bowen, who was her greatest champion and confidante. Sadie now joins her father, John Bowen; her aunts, Misty Hansen and Pippi Miller; and her cousins, Jenna Hansen, Tesla Scarberry, Ryan Utt, Michael Utt, Raiden Scarberry, and Carson Utt, in eternal rest. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her. A private funeral service will be held on June 9, 2026, to honor Sadie's life and legacy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital for their unwavering support and compassion. In remembrance of Sadie, we invite those who knew her to celebrate her life by embracing the joy, music, and laughter she so dearly loved. Though she is no longer with us, Sadie's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her beautiful soul. Sadie Gracelynn Bowen will forever be remembered as a shining star, whose light continues to illuminate our lives and whose memory will be cherished for all eternity.
