It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Ryan Reed, who left this world on July 28, 2026, at his home in Texas. Born on February 7, 1987, in Lubbock, Texas, Ryan was a beacon of light and compassion, deeply loved by his family and friends. Ryan's journey began in Lubbock, where he graduated from Monterey High School in 2004. He furthered his education at South Plains College, laying the foundation for a career in hotel maintenance, which he pursued with passion and dedication. His hard work and determination saw him rise to the position of hotel management, and eventually, he became a proud business owner, running a successful detailing business. A devout Christian, Ryan's faith was a guiding force in his life. His gentle spirit and unwavering morals made him a beloved figure among his vast circle of friends. He was known for his soft-spoken nature, a heart that held no bounds, and a light that shone brightly, bringing hope and joy to those around him. Ryan excelled on his high school golf team and continued to enjoy the game throughout his life. His love for football, especially his devotion to Texas Tech, was infectious and served as a joyful pastime shared with friends and family. Ryan is survived by a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his father Darrel Reed, mother Kelli Elwell, maternal grandfather Kenneth Blaylock, his brothers Justin (and wife Dana), Matthew, Nicholas, Jackson Elwell, Nathan Reed, and T.J. Manor, his sister Melissa Reed, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Ryan. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Zane Reed and Charlene House, his maternal grandmother Peggy Blaylock, and great-nephew Stetson Stacy. Ryan was never married, but his heart was full of love for everyone in his life. Through his kind actions and selfless nature, Ryan helped many find solace and hope, leading some to embrace faith and love. His legacy is one of compassion, forgiveness, and unwavering kindness. A celebration of Ryan’s life will take place on August 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM in Slaton, Texas. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring Ryan's life and the profound impact he had on everyone he encountered. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Ryan's generous spirit. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to John Sadler for his selfless contributions and to Ryan's grandparents, whose unconditional love and guidance helped shape Ryan into the remarkable man he became. They also express gratitude to the many individuals who stood by Ryan through every circumstance. Ryan’s departure leaves a void that can never be filled, yet his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He is deeply missed and will always be remembered with love.
