In Loving Memory

Ryan Samuel Smith
September 6, 1984 — June 3, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ryan Samuel Smith, who left us far too soon on June 3, 2026, at the age of 41. Born on September 6, 1984, in Jacksonville, Florida, Ryan was the son of Peter Smith (Paige) and Michelle Smith. He is predeceased by his dear brother, Michael David Smith, and is survived by his loving step-sisters, Heather and Arianne Sutherland.
Ryan was a remarkable soul who brought light and laughter into every room he entered. Known for his infectious humor and spirited personality, Ryan had an unparalleled ability to make people laugh, his playful nature often bordered on the mischievous, but beneath that lively exterior was a gentle and caring heart—a true teddy bear to those who knew him well.
Growing up in Jacksonville Beach, Ryan loved his community, and his roots here were strong. His joyful demeanor and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered, creating a legacy of love and laughter that will long be remembered.
In a final act of selflessness, Ryan was a registered organ donor, and through his gift, he was able to save the lives of two kidney transplant patients in Florida. This act of kindness is a testament to Ryan's enduring spirit and compassionate nature, extending his legacy of hope and life to others in need.
A service to honor and remember Ryan will take place on June 27, 2026, at 12:30 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, located at 523 Pablo Avenue, Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Friends and family are invited to gather in the Family Life Center following the service to celebrate Ryan's life, share stories and memories that highlight the joy he brought into the world.
While Ryan may no longer be with us in this world, his spirit lives on in the laughter he inspired and the lives he touched. We find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his brother Michael, and that his legacy of love and generosity continues to shine brightly.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Ryan and strive to keep his spirit alive in our hearts. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories and the laughter, cherishing the time we had with Ryan.
Ryan, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear friend, brother, and son.
