Ruthie Mae Anderson

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruthie Mae Anderson on August 28, 2026. Born on May 3, 1939, in the quaint town of Springbluff, Georgia, Ruthie was the cherished daughter of John Benjamin and Mary Crumpton. Her life was a rich tapestry woven with deep family bonds, enduring friendships, and a steadfast faith. Ruthie was predeceased by her beloved parents, her husbands Ray Mark Jones and Willie B. Anderson Sr., her cherished son Raymond Jones, dear grandson Derrick Dillon, and her treasured siblings Dorothy Verdell Doretha Crumpton, Julie Lewis, Betty Jean Hill, as well as brothers John, Tommy, John Jr., Danny, Charlie Jo, and Frankie Lee Crumpton. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Mary Franklin, Angeline Johnson, Laura Bowles, and Willie B. Anderson Jr., who were the joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Alessa Peeples, Jamil Jones, Kiyonne Goodman, Marie Archbold, Shameka Young, Shari Johnson, Raleigh Johnson, and William Anderson. Ruthie was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, who brought her boundless joy and pride. Ruthie's siblings, sister Willie C. Crumpton and brothers Robert and Curley Mae Crumpton, as well as her dear sister-in-law Pearlie Young, held a special place in her heart. Close family friends, including Jeanette Low and the Jones, Johnson, Dallas, Starks, and Purnell families, were considered an extension of her family. In 1956, Ruthie married Ray Mark Jones in St. John County, beginning a journey that would be filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. She was educated in the public schools of St. John County and went on to dedicate 28 years of her professional life as a Trainer and Head Salad Prep at Morrison/Picadilly Cafeteria. Ruthie was renowned for her work ethic and her ability to make everyone feel at home. An active member of the First Baptist Church of College Hill in Tampa, Florida, Ruthie's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She found joy in cooking, fishing, crocheting, knitting, and singing gospel music. Her love for reading and studying the Bible with others was a testament to her deep spiritual connection. Ruthie possessed an innate gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her independent spirit, strength, and sense of fun were infectious to those around her. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and Christian woman, whose love and care knew no bounds. A celebration of Ruthie Mae Anderson's life will be held on September 12, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of College Hill, located at 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida 33605. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ruthie's honor. Ruthie touched the lives of all who knew her and leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
