Ruthie Jean Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2026. Born on September 4, 1947, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Ruthie was the daughter of the late Ida Mae Stewart and Thomas Doc Tines. She was predeceased by her loving parents and her dear sister, Emma Williams.
Ruthie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and joy. She graduated from Lyon High School, where she began forming lifelong friendships and nurturing a spirit of community that would follow her throughout her life. Her career at Duncan Nursing Home spanned many years, where she offered care and companionship to residents, embodying compassion and dedication in her work.
Her family was the center of her world. Ruthie is survived by her three devoted sons: Arthur (Felicia) McCorkle, Reginald Davis, and Christopher Davis. Her legacy of love continues through her ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who brought immense pride and joy to her life. She also leaves behind her beloved godchildren, Angela White and Ann Coffey, and her godsister, Latisha Hall, each holding a special place in her heart.
Ruthie had a zest for life that was evident in her love for fishing and dancing. She found peace and happiness by the water with a fishing rod in hand and was often the first to take to the dance floor, her laughter and spirit infectious to all those around her.
