Ruthie D. Robinson

January 17, 1952 — June 26, 1952

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Ruthie D. Robinson, who left this world on June 26, 2026, at the age of 74. Ruthie was born on January 17, 1952, in the close-knit community of Montgomery County, Mississippi. She was a treasured daughter to L. T. Robinson, Sr. and Eliza Purnell Robinson, who instilled in her the values of kindness, perseverance, and faith. Ruthie was a beacon of love and resilience throughout her life, having faced the loss of her infant sons, James Henry Robinson and Timothy Lynn Robinson, with grace and strength. Her journey was marked by both challenges and triumphs, and through it all, she remained a steadfast and nurturing presence for her family and community. She was predeceased by her parents and her cherished siblings: sisters Ella Wease Robinson, Mary Helen Robinson, Mae Ella Small, Ora Dean Lockhart, and Jeweline Steward, as well as brothers Quebee Robinson, Ora B. Robinson, Lovell Robinson, ReDell Robinson, Sr., and L.T. Robinson, Jr. Despite the profound losses she endured, Ruthie continued to embody compassion and warmth, serving as a matriarchal figure for her extended family. Ruthie's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: her devoted daughter Vontella Forrest residing in Memphis, TN, and her sons, Tyrone L. Forrest and Tracy T. Forrest, both of Winona, MS. Her life was further enriched by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and the continuation of her enduring spirit. A beloved aunt, she also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who cherished her wisdom and affection. A woman of deep faith, Ruthie was a dedicated member of the Winona Columbiana United Methodist Church, where she found comfort and community. Her faith was her guiding light, and she shared that light generously with those around her, offering a listening ear and a gentle word to anyone in need. Ruthie's life will be celebrated at a service held at the Winona Columbiana United Methodist Church, a place where she found solace and strength throughout her life. We will gather to honor her memory and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire future generations. As we say goodbye to Ruthie, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in the lives of those she touched. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ruthie's memory to the Winona Columbiana United Methodist Church, supporting the community she loved so dearly. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
