In Loving Memory

Ruth Tove Dally
April 14, 1925 — June 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Tove Dally, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Born on April 14, 1925, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Ruth lived a life rich in love, faith, and family. She gracefully departed this world on June 12, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101, ready to meet her maker with a heart full of peace and fulfillment.
Ruth was the beloved daughter of Henry and Tove Hansen, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she carried throughout her life. She is predeceased by her dear sister, Elsa, whose memory she cherished deeply. Ruth's legacy of love continues through her surviving family: her devoted children, Scott Douglas Dally and Susan Tove Dally, and her beloved sister, Joyce Maier. Ruth also leaves behind nine grandchildren who were the light of her life, each carrying forward her spirit of kindness and generosity.
A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, Ruth's faith was a cornerstone of her existence. Her unwavering dedication to her church community was evident in her involvement and her steadfast belief in helping others. Her warm presence and gentle soul were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Ruth's love for her children and grandchildren was the heart of her being, and she found immense joy in their company. Her home was always filled with laughter, stories, and the aroma of delightful meals lovingly prepared for those she held dear. Ruth's kindness and loving nature extended beyond her family to everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of many.
The celebration of Ruth's life and legacy will be held on July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the serene setting of Depoe Bay. In honor of her memory and her deep love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society, an organization close to Ruth's heart.
As we say goodbye to our beloved Ruth, we find solace in knowing that her spirit lives on in the acts of kindness she inspired and the love she shared so freely. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered as a beacon of love and compassion in our lives.
