Ruth O. Turner

Ruth O. Turner, born on July 1, 1953, in the peaceful town of Mapleton, Maine, left this world far too soon yet left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Though her time with us was brief, her spirit was profoundly felt, and her legacy continues to resonate within her family and cherished community. Ruth was the beloved daughter of Butch and Amy Hand of Ashland. Her family was her world, and she was the world to them. Despite her brief life, she was surrounded by love and warmth, a testament to the enduring power of familial bonds. She joins her predeceased brother, Steven Hand, and sister, Bonnie Dean of Mapleton, in eternal rest. Ruth had an inherent kindness and a nurturing spirit, which guided her journey to become a certified nursing assistant. Her dedication to caring for others in the comfort of their homes was an extension of her loving nature, a true reflection of her selflessness and compassion. Graduating from Presque Isle High School in 1972, Ruth carried with her a determination and strength that endeared her to all who crossed her path. Her life, although short, was filled with moments of joy and love, particularly when surrounded by her family, whom she adored deeply. A service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on July 1, 2026. Her family invites those who knew her to gather and honor her memory, cherishing the love and happiness she brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting Ruth's generous spirit and her commitment to helping others. Though she graced this earth for only a brief moment, Ruth O. Turner’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and the enduring warmth of family. She will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
