Born on February 5, 1948, to John and Mary Svarda, Ruth was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life. Ruth's journey began in her hometown of Jackson, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. With a passion for helping others, she pursued a degree in nursing, earning her Bachelor of Science from Ohio University in 1969. Her career as a nurse was marked by her unwavering dedication and genuine compassion for her patients, traits that came naturally to her. For over 40 years, Ruth was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, where she was known for her quick wit and infectious smile. Her warm presence was a source of comfort and joy to all who knew her. Ruth was also an active member of the Rotary Club, serving as president in 1996, and consistently demonstrated her commitment to service and community. Ruth was an avid traveler, never missing an opportunity to explore new places and cultures. She had a green thumb and took great pride in her vegetable garden, where she grew the most delicious tomatoes, always sharing her bounty with friends and neighbors. Her skills extended to woodworking, where she created beautiful pieces cherished by her family. A loving and devoted grandmother, Ruth is survived by her three grandchildren, Nate Wolfe, Natalie Wolfe, and Nicholas Wolfe, who brought immense joy to her life. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchild, Nala Wolfe, who will grow up hearing stories of her great-grandmother's kindness and humor. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Wolfe, and her parents, John and Mary Svarda. Ruth's warmth and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, often using her humor to brighten even the darkest of days. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Ruth's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church or a charity of your choice, in memory of Ruth's lifelong commitment to serving others. Ruth Ellen Svarda will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
