Russell W. Timmons

March 13, 1935 — September 30, 2026

Russell Timmons, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on March 13, 1935, in Palatka, Florida, Russell was the cherished son of Joseph Timmons and Ruth Clark. His life was a testament to the values of dedication, love, and service. Russell’s journey began in the small town of Palatka, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. These passions would later become cherished traditions that he lovingly passed down to his family. After completing his education to become an electrician, Russell answered the call to serve his country, first as a member of the National Guard and later in the Air Force. His service was a source of pride and shaped the man he became, instilling in him a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to his family and community. After his military service, Russell pursued a successful career as an electrician, a craft he not only excelled in but also imparted to three generations of his family. His dedication to teaching and mentoring was a reflection of his generous spirit and commitment to helping others succeed. Russell’s skills and knowledge became a family legacy, one that will continue to light the way for future generations. Russell was a man who placed family above all else. He was predeceased by his son, Russell Timmons Jr., his grandson, Joshua Timmons, his granddaughter, Shannan Marsh, and his siblings. Despite these profound losses, his heart remained open and full of love for his surviving family members: his devoted wife Jewell, his daughter Judy, and his son David. Russell was blessed with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply. He was a constant source of laughter and joy, always ready with a story or a joke to brighten the day. Russell’s love for his family was matched only by his love for life. Whether he was spending time with loved ones, teaching his grandkids to fish, or tending to his yard, Russell found joy in the simple pleasures. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone who knew him. A service to celebrate Russell’s life will be held on October 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Whidden McLean Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived and to share in the memories of a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Russell's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of generosity and love for community. Russell Timmons will be remembered as a pillar of strength, a beacon of love, and a man whose legacy will endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the laughter, stories, and values he so generously shared.
